Josh is lucky because in 2012 his hobby of video production became his business but his true passion has always been with gems.
He has collected cabinet minerals like quartz, amethyst and tourmalines for 15 years and has an in-depth knowledge of minerals and their localities (where the best gems come from).
His passion to collect was ignited in 2010 after a family trip to Sri Lanka opened his eyes to the Island of Gems and the alluring beauty and value of sapphires.
After travelling the world visiting international gem shows, broadening his networks and making his own gem acquisitions he thought it was time to share his resources with others and work with people equally passionate about quality jewels to help them create their own heirloom jewellery.
Josh has a keen eye for selecting gemstones that was developed through 10 years of video production. While editing videos you are required to colour-correct clips so they all match. So looking at an Emerald he can see if it’s green-yellow or green-blue rather than a true vivid green.
Josh will be in charge of sourcing your gems, negotiating on your behalf and never letting you make a bad decision.

El’s background is in luxury property marketing and sales where she is most renowned for creating the brand, marketing and selling Sapphire, Canberra’s finest apartments on the Kingston Foreshore.
El was Josh’s first custom-made jewellery client. She had heard about the fine-quality gemstones at incredible prices and wanted to reward herself for successfully achieving a significant business milestone.
El shared images of her desired jewels and Josh helped her secure stunning Zambian emerald and diamond, 18ct white gold, hoop earrings.
Josh made more high-end pieces for friends until El said why don’t we formalise a business and help people on scale.
So it was decided. Vivid Jewels, the company was formed as a Jewellery Buyers Agency to work alongside you to acquire exquisite heirloom jewels that will be cherished for generations.
